GETTING THERE

Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand

One of South Africa's largest convention venues, Gallagher sits in Midrand between Johannesburg and Pretoria, at the centre of Gauteng, the country's economic and energy hub.

Most international visitors fly into O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB), Africa's busiest air hub, about 30 minutes from the venue.

  • From the airport

O.R. Tambo (JNB) has direct flights from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and across Africa. Lanseria (HLA) serves domestic routes and is 35 minutes away.

  • By train

Take the Gautrain from O.R. Tambo or Sandton to Midrand Station (around 25 minutes), then a short taxi or ride-hail to Gallagher.

  • Taxi and car parking

Gallagher sits just off the N1 highway. Uber and Bolt operate widely; follow event signage to visitor parking and drop-off.

GETTING TO SOUTH AFRICA

Visa information

Planning your visit to Africa Energy and need a visa? Find out about South Africa's entry requirements and how to request an invitation letter to support your visa application.

Visa requirements depend on your nationality, passport and travel circumstances. Check the official South African government guidance before making your travel arrangements.

Determine whether you need a visa to enter South Africa. Requirements depend on your passport and circumstances as South Africa grants visa-free entry for tourism or business stays to nationals from over 130 countries. This includes citizens from the UK, USA, European Union, Australia, Canada, and several African and Asian nations.

Africa Energy provides visa invitation letters to support attendees travelling to the event. Please note that an invitation letter supports your application but does not guarantee visa approval or entry into South Africa.

If a visa or travel authorisation is required, follow the official application process and submit the necessary supporting documents.

  • Apply through the relevant official South African authority or designated visa application channel.
  • Allow sufficient time for processing before your intended departure.
